Tareq Al-Ansari is a Qatari born national, currently an Assistant Professor in the Sustainability Division at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, College of Science and Engineering. He graduated with a Beng in Mechanical Engineering from University College London, Mphil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Development from Imperial College London. He previously worked in the oil and gas industry at Qatar Petroleum as a mechanical engineer in both the Common Cooling Water Project and the Barzan Gas Project. He has also worked as a technical advisor in the development of the Qatar National Food Security Master Plan.
His research interests include the continuous development of the energy, water and food nexus concept; life cycle assessment of product systems; the integration of resilience in sustainable development strategies; and the utilisation of waste to generate value added products.
